Caller-information checklist
If you choose to speak with the caller, ask: What is your legal business name? Who are you calling for? What is your callback number and website? Where did you obtain my number and consent? Which company handled each transfer?
Write down the exact answers and preserve texts, voicemail and original screenshots. Mark statements as caller claims until corroborated. You can end the call without collecting everything.
Do not provide passwords, payment details or identity documents to obtain information. A reverse lookup describes a number; it does not prove who originated a spoofed call.
Saved investigations are private. Saving a case does not submit a complaint or change the original call record.
